Suliss is my character from Realms of Despair.

She's one of the last of the old guard and she is tired. Yathtallar, valsharess, ilharess: she's ruled the Temple, the Nation and the ancient House of Veldrin'Velve. She knows her days are numbered, her power is weakening, her age is showing. "Quarvalsharess," she whispers, "come for me..."

This may be the finished work. There's a bit of photo-manipulation in this, and I've used some stock, but mostly it was painting in photoshop 7. Please note I've worked some on the hair.

I almost NEVER work digitally like this, so I think I might be out of my depth, but at the same time, I'm pretty impressed with myself.

I used the marvelous WolfcatStock for the figure. She's grand. [link]

I have used background stock from stock-deekayed [link] and quaddles [link]

RIght on. So, is it finished or is there more I should do to it?

The only other thing I can think of is that her necklace is all the same yellow/gold color, and by that I mean I can't tell if you did any shading/highlighting for it. Depending how you did the layers thought it might be tricky to do. But other than that little detail, I think you can call it finished.

My mother thinks she's too blue and says it distracts from the emotion. Is there emotion? Now I'm concerned. Of course, my mother lives in a world where people are generally shades of brown through pink. So mundane !

Emotion--she looks like she is anticipating something but she knows it will not come immediately. A sort of anxious patience almost. That's the feeling I get anyway. Personally I like the blue. It really works with her white hair and red clothes. If you made it a more natural color, perhaps it would generate a better emotion but I think it would throw the color scheme off. Besides, half the point of drawing fantasy is the excuse to give characters cool clothes, weird skin tones and whacky hair.
